Student Consultations

As educators and parents, we have experienced firsthand the stress of navigating a student through the college application process. There are many details to organize, deadlines to make, essays to write, and unnecessary fear to overcome. It is not unusual for both the parent and the student to feel overwhelmed and frustrated. We understand—we've been there! The Apps4College® Student Consultations are designed to help take the stress out of this entire process.

During Our Meetings, We Include the Following Topics

  • Creating a personalized college application timeline
  • Developing an admission strategy for each college of interest
  • Crafting a winning resume
  • Writing & editing the personal essay (for the Common Application, ApplyTexas& all independent apps)
  • Requesting teacher and counselor recommendations
  • Learning how to handle the college interview
  • Completing and submitting the final applications

Each student moves at their own pace, and the applicant's needs determine the number and length of the consultations. There may be circumstances where several students request group consultations, and these sessions are easily arranged. We have found that after all of the student's applications are submitted, and the colleges have sent their admission letters, many of the students return to discuss their final decisions. We are delighted to assist in this process as well.

At the Initial Consultation, We Request That the Student Bring

  • List of colleges being considered
  • SAT/ACT scores (if available)
  • Comprehensive list of all activities during high-school years
  • Current GPA & high-school transcript
